Privacy Policy

Nodhpothi (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a free mobile app designed to help families digitally record wedding contributions and gifts — including traditional items and categories such as Chandlo, Mamera, Vasan, Pas Pidhi, and Aana. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use Nodhpothi.

We built Nodhpothi with family trust in mind. Your wedding data belongs to you, and we are committed to keeping it private, secure, and easy to manage. By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We collect only the information needed to make the app useful for your family. This includes:

• Account information: When you sign up, we may collect your name, phone number, and/or email address so we can create and secure your family account.
• Wedding and guest data you enter: This includes guest names, contribution types, amounts, notes, event names, and any other details you choose to record in the app. This is the core data that helps you track Chandlo, Mamera, Vasan, Pas Pidhi, Aana, and other contributions.
• Voice input: If you use the speech-to-text feature, your device processes the audio briefly to convert it into text. The raw audio is not stored by us or sent to our servers unless your device operating system does so temporarily for transcription purposes.
• Device and usage information: We may collect basic technical details such as your device type, operating system version, app language preference, and anonymized usage statistics to help us improve the app and fix issues.

We use the information we collect to operate and improve Nodhpothi for your family. Specifically:

• To let you record, view, search, filter, and export your wedding contribution data.
• To show running totals, dashboard summaries, and reports by contribution type.
• To remember your preferred language (English, Hindi, or Gujarati) between sessions.
• To respond to support requests and keep the app running smoothly.

We do not use your data to show advertisements, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Your wedding and guest data is stored securely on your device and/or within your family account, depending on how you use the app. We use trusted cloud infrastructure and industry-standard security measures to protect your information.

Your data is not sold to third parties. Access is limited to what is necessary to provide the service, and we keep it confidential.

Your wedding data is private to your family. We do not share your guest lists, contribution amounts, or event details with other families, the public, or any unrelated third party.

The only way your data leaves the app is when you choose to share it — for example, by exporting a PDF or Excel report and sending it through WhatsApp or email. We may also rely on trusted service providers (such as cloud hosting or analytics services) to keep the app running, and they are only permitted to handle your data under strict confidentiality and for the limited purpose of supporting Nodhpothi.

Nodhpothi may ask for the following device permissions. These are optional or limited to specific features:

• Microphone: Used only for the optional voice-to-text name entry feature. If you prefer not to grant microphone access, you can still type guest names manually.
• Storage: Used when you choose to save exported PDF or Excel files to your device. You can manage or revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings.

You remain in control of your data. You can delete individual entries, guests, weddings, or your entire account at any time through the app. Once you delete something, it is removed from your active account and is not recoverable through the app.

Nodhpothi is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app grows. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
